Coming from a family of naturally talented singers, at a young age she learned to sing four-part harmony in the backseat of her family's car. Emily’s dad encouraged her singing ability and would set up a microphone in the living room, turn on karaoke tracks to Carpenter’s songs and the whole family would entertain one another by singing. Also, her dad regularly took her and her little sister to nursing homes and the two girls would sing for and visit with the seniors.
That experience was the foundation for many years later in 2017 when Emily became a musician partner with the wonderful non-profit organization Music for Seniors. It is amazing how life comes into a beautiful full circle naturally, isn’t it? Emily and her sister, who also lives in Nashville, are now many years later singing music from the 40’s and 50’s that the seniors remember and love just as they did as little children.
On top of music, Emily has a BA in Spanish and a passion for language which began while living abroad in Honduras for one year. Once she returned, she used her experience of learning language through immersion and created a small local business in Nashville teaching conversational Spanish to adults, which she recently sold to pursue her passion for music.(which is also a language)
